Le film 8 Miles a-t-il pour but de représenter les impacts des luttes raciales, du racisme, de la marginalisation des communautés afro-américaine ou remet-il encore le pouvoir entre les mains des blancs ? Comment le conflit social dans l’espace public c’est intérioriser dans la culture du Hip-Hop?

The Shelter :
C’est un lieu de libre expression, qui permet à la communauté d’être soi-même. Voici pourquoi au début du film, le videur refuse l’entrée à B. Rabbit (Eminem). Ce lieu est la propriété privé de la culture afro-américaine, les blancs n’ont pas leur place. Le « Shelter » représente cette forme de vie communautaire, « les gangs ». Tha Free World veulent prendre possession du territoire car celui qui gagne est proclamé le meilleur. En même temps cet endroit s’inscrit dans l’illégalité, il transgresse les règles sociales de la Ville.

Ce terme représente la marginalisation du système, la frontière sociale et raciale qui divise l’agglomération de Détroit entre la ville et ses banlieues. Autrement dit entre les riche blanc et les pauvres noires. Voici pourquoi Eminem est rejeté de 8 Miles, car pour les autres il représente la menace.
